Razorbacks at “top of the board” for talented 3-star athlete from The Boot
Another official visitor who came away with a glowing review following his trip to Arkansas is talented two-way athlete Bra’jon Melancon.
At 6-foot, 170 pounds, Melancon can play multiple positions at the next level. However, he is being primarily recruited for his secondary skills by Razorbacks defensive backs coach Eddie Hicks.

“The visit to Arkansas was amazing,” Melancon tells HawgWired. “The people there are amazing.
“The staff-to-player relationships are incredible and they got something special cooking up in the football facility.”
Melancon is the No. 13 ranked athlete in the country and No. 15 overall prospect in Louisiana in the 2027 class, according to Rivals.
“[The Razorbacks] are at the top of my board, they’re definitely a contender,” Melancon said. “I have two more visits schedulers at Kansas State on June 12th and Tulane on June 19th.”
He is expected to announce his college decision July 1.
Melancon has also received offers from programs such as Texas Tech, UCF, and South Alabama.
However, it sounds like Arkansas is in the lead for his coverage abilities in the secondary.
When it comes to productivity, the Rosedale, La. native enjoyed an explosive junior season with 40 receptions for 775 yads and 15 touchdowns in 2025.
He scored an additional three touchdowns off kick-off returns, one off an interception and another on the punt return team.
Defensively, he notched 46 total tackles, four tackles for loss, five interceptions and three pass break-ups.
