Razorbacks make statement when it comes to recruitment of Jaylen Hill out of Alabama
The Razorbacks and new coach Ryan Silverfield hosted a rather long list of official visitors this weekend, and made a strong impression on all of them.
It’s now a three team race between Arkansas, Missouri and Mississippi State to earn the pledge of 3-star offensive lineman Jaylen Hill.
The Razorbacks were able to get the first official visit and seemed to knock their presentation out of the park.

“It was a great visit,” Hill tells HawgWired. “And I really enjoyed my time back up there. Arkansas is building something special and enjoyed spending time with Coach Silverfield, Coach [Jeff] Myers and Coach [Marcus] Johnson.
“I really could feel the love there this weekend.”
The Razorbacks appear to be making a strong case to be a potential landing spot for the versatile lineman.
From Marcus Johnson’s extensive experience at the Power Four level and Memphis’ history at fielding strong offenses, Arkansas has plenty to offer any offensive lineman.
That’s why he believes Arkansas is near the top of his list of potential suitors come commitment day.
“[Arkansas] is definitely top tier,” Hill said. “This place feels like somewhere I can grow and develop as a player and a person.”
Although he remains uncommitted going into the summer, that didn’t keep the Razorbacks’ top pledge in 4-star Odaefe Oruru and others commits from encouraging to get on board.
“Yeah, there were a couple of the guys, especially on the offensive line, who were already committed trying to get me to join the class.”
Arkansas has already established a solid relationships with several recruits this cycle rather quickly. And it’s promising, especially for offensive linemen, who must develop chemistry and cohesion as a unit early on.
The Razorbacks’ staff have shown a knack for connecting with recruits across the country, which makes Hill’s case no different.
As Arkansas battles Missouri and Mississippi State down the stretch, there’s a strong chance the Razorbacks can bring him in the fold this cycle.
Hill, 6-foot-4, 295 pounds holds more than a dozen scholarship offers from other programs such as Wake Forest, Troy, South Alabama, Georgia Southern, Tulane, Florida International and several others.
A native from Lanett, Alabama, Hill is the No. 1,124 ranked player in the country, No. 89 among offensive tackles and No. 42 prospect in his state, according to 247Sports.
