Arkansas looking to close door pursuit of blue chip lineman

Arkansas’ 2027 recruiting class continues to take shape this offseason as first-year coach Ryan Silverfield has his team in good positioning going into a June full of official visits.
One key target scheduled for a visit next month is 4-star offensive lineman Brayden Harris. The 6-foot-7, 285-pound prospect has trimmed his list of potential suitors to Arkansas, Kansas State and UCF.
The Jackson, Mo. native is ranked as the No. 190 overall prospect in the nation, No. 15 among tackles and No. 4 in the Show Me State, according to Rivals.
Arkansas offered Harris a scholarship Feb. 10 and is looking to make an even stronger impression during his trip.
“I really love all the guys on the coaching staff, them being the new staff at Arkansas excited me,” Harris tells HawgWired. “How they go about their business is elite and Fayetteville, as a town, is sick.”
Harris will visit Kansas State (May 29), Arkansas (June 5), and UCF (June 12).
Arkansas has two quality linemen already pledged this cycle in 4-star tackle Odaefe Oruru out of Oklahoma and 3-star Bradley Sturdivant from Sheridan.
Scouting Report
The potential addition of Harris would give the Razorbacks’ staff another long, developmental tackle prospect with the kind of frame offensive line coaches covet.
He has enough length to project as a true edge protector once he adds more functional mass. His size gives him a natural advantage in pass protection, but what makes him intriguing is his ceiling that comes with his body type.
Should he choose the Razorbacks, Harris wouldn’t be pressured to play right out of high school. Instead, he can sit and learn from experienced offensive line coaches Marcus Johnson and Jeff Myers, and become a depth piece until he is ready to contribute on a consistent basis.
Hogs Summer Outlook
The coaching staff picked up key commitments this spring and has a chance to add several talented 4-star prospects this summer.
Key visitors such as wide receiver Alvin Mosley, quarterback Colton Nussmeier, athlete Jabari Watkins, and defensive back Hunter Haug are just a few of the major blue chippers. Some 3-star prospects to keep an eye on are running back Asa Barnes, linebacker Bryce Breeden and defensive lineman Jason Johnson.
Each has enjoyed a productive high school career and projects as a Power Four contributor
With a total of nine commitments in the 2027 class, the Razorbacks rank No. 12 among SEC teams and No. 34 nationally, according to 247Sports.
